Youth protection and health information
Supply only to persons aged 18 and over
Under Section 10 of the German Youth Protection Act, tobacco products must not be supplied to children or adolescents, nor may they be permitted to consume them. Trade partners are obliged to verify age before every sale.
Not intended for non-users
VIS products are intended exclusively for adults who already consume tobacco products. They are not intended for people who do not currently use tobacco, nor for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Nicotine is addictive
The products contain tobacco and nicotine. Nicotine is an addictive substance and can cause physical dependence. VIS is not presented as a less harmful alternative to other tobacco products and is not a smoking cessation aid.
Intended use
These products are chewing tobacco. The portion pouches are intended exclusively for chewing and must not be swallowed. After use they must be disposed of with household waste.
Information for the trade
Trade partners are themselves responsible for complying with the rules applicable in their market, in particular age verification, labelling requirements, advertising restrictions and the admissibility of the product in the respective country. Cross-border distance sales to consumers require registration under Section 22 of the German Tobacco Products Act and are prohibited in several member states.
